Pokemon Types are the foundation of Pokemon Go battles. All Pokemon creatures and moves have a type assigned to them. Each type has both offensive and defensive strengths and weaknesses. Knowing the type of matchups is essential for ensuring that each of your Pokemon moves does the most damage. A player should also be aware of their Pokemon’s weaknesses in order to keep their opponents from knocking them out.

This is a very useful chart that will tell the player which moves to use and which to avoid. The majority of the type chart has remained unchanged, but there have been a few changes. In generation two, the Dark and Steel types were introduced. In generation 6, a fairy type was added.
