Gravestones of Kobe Bryant and Gianna Bryant will go unmarked.
The death of world-famous NBA star Kobe Bryant was among the first in a long list of tragedies that would occur this year. The legendary basketball player was involved in an accident in which the helicopter he was travelling in with his daughter crashed, leaving no survivors.
Kobe Bryant has spent his entire NBA career with the Los Angeles Lakers, where he has won five NBA championships. He was an undisputed basketball legend who was frequently compared to Michael Jordan. In fact, his clout was so widespread that even video gamers used to call out his name when their aim was on point. As a result, his death came as a terrible shock.
Kobe Bryant and Gianna Bryant and his daughter Gianna’s burial site was kept private at the request of Kobe’s wife Vanessa Bryant in order to prevent grieving fans from crowding their final resting place. In fact, to keep the location of their graves hidden, both father and daughter were buried in a private funeral days before their public memorial.
Fans are still looking despite the fact that the location is a closely guarded secret.
Kobe Bryant and Gianna Bryant are buried atop the Pacific View Memorial Park in Corona Del Mar, which overlooks Newport Coast and is home to Kobe’s wife and three remaining daughters; no further details have been released. This did not prevent a person from looking around. Earlier this year, on March 15, an unnamed individual was arrested by police for digging up a grave he thought belonged to Bryant. The purple and yellow flowers kept on the gravestone led him to believe so, purple and yellow being the colours of Bryant’s team, the Los Angeles Lakers. This was not the case, as the grave turned out to belong to someone who had died.
The suspect was committed to the Orange County Jail for vandalism and, despite being bailed out, still faces trial.
The man apparently wore knee pads and climbed over a four-foot wall to reach the grave, where he dug it up with various tools.
The cemetery staff immediately notified the police, and they apprehended him before he could unearth the grave he thought belonged to Bryant.
Why is the location of Kobe and Gianna Bryant’s burial a closely guarded secret?
According to reports, Kobe Bryant’s wife Vanessa Bryant did not want grieving fans to make a shrine out of her husband’s and daughter’s graves, so the two were buried secretly in a private funeral.
